Cocaine Addiction Treatment that Works
Origins of Cocaine
Pure cocaine was first used in the 1880s in eye, nose, and throat surgeries as an anesthetic and for its ability to constrict blood vessels and limit bleeding. However, many of its therapeutic applications are now obsolete because of the development of safer drugs.
How It’s Used
Cocaine is the most potent stimulant of natural origin. This substance can be snorted, smoked, or injected. When snorted, cocaine powder is inhaled through the nose where it is absorbed into the bloodstream through the nasal tissues. When injected, the user uses a needle to release the drug directly into the bloodstream. Smoking involves inhaling cocaine vapor or smoke into the lungs where absorption into the bloodstream is as rapid as by injection. Each of these methods of administration pose great risks to the user.
Crack Cocaine
Crack is cocaine that has been processed from cocaine hydrochloride to a free base for smoking. Crack cocaine is processed with ammonia or sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) and water. It is then heated to remove the hydrochloride producing a form of cocaine that can be smoked.

Cocaine abuse and addiction is a complex and serious problem that requires professional help. At Bow Creek Recovery Center we can provide that help, If you have chosen cocaine as your drug of choice, we are here to help you in overcoming cocaine addiction.
Addressing All Aspects of the Addiction
The cocaine addiction treatment that we provide, addresses all aspects of life that cocaine addicts struggle with – physical, emotional, and mental. As part of the treatment, you begin to heal the body that you have damaged during the period of cocaine abuse. We promote this healing by encouraging you to eat delicious and healthy food, getting proper amounts of sleep, and getting back on a schedule that makes sense. Exercising, taking peaceful walks, and meditation are also part of your recovery process.
Mental and Emotional Aspects
In overcoming cocaine addiction, a lot of time is spent addressing the emotional and mental issues that have been the cause of your choice to use cocaine. This is achieved through one-on-one counseling and group counseling with other recovering addicts. Because we are a small facility and our group sessions are more intimate you will receive adequate amounts of individual attention. You may get lost in a large group setting, in a larger facility, thus reducing your chances of getting enough individual attention to properly address your needs.
We Can Help You and Your Family
Cocaine drug addiction harms more than just the addict, it harms the whole family. Because of this, Bow Creek Recovery Center also offers, and encourages family counseling, so repairs may be made to these important relationships. The Twelve Step program is also a huge part of finding peace and sobriety. Through all of these components you, as the recovering cocaine addict, are able to dissipate your desire to use cocaine.
