Bow Creek Recovery Center is your gambling addiction recovery home. Our Executive Director, Sally Wynn, is one of few Certified Gambling Addiction Counselors in the United States. Sally has spent her time studying gambling addiction and keeping up-to-date on all of the specific gambling addiction related issues. She fully understands that an addiction to gambling needs a very specific form of treatment. She also understands the various phases that you go through related to your compulsive gambling addiction. There are different phases of gambling addiction. There is the winning phase in which you come out ahead more than you lose. This offers you a big rush of excitement. This excitement, especially of a big win, sets you up to believe that you are good enough to be a professional gambler. When you believe this you spend more and more of your time gambling. Of course, because you are sure that you will win you bet larger and larger amounts. Unfortunately, you will eventually begin to lose and most, if not all, of the winnings will be gone. When this happens you believe that you are just having a moment of bad luck and that your expertise will bring you back what you have lost and much more. Next is the losing phase where you gamble more and bet larger amounts in order to break even. You feel like you are just on a temporary losing streak and that you will soon start winning. You bet on "longshots" and bet on hands you know you cannot win. You begin to lie to everyone. You might have managed to get a loan from someone in order to pay off your gambling debt, but you borrowed more than you needed so that you could continue to gamble. Your life, at this time, is completely out of control. You live in fear of being found out and in fear of losing everything because you have gambled away all of the money. Your family life is in big trouble. It would be a good time to look for your gambling addiction treatment center, but you do not see it that way.
You then become desperate and all that you can think about is gambling--going out to gamble, planning on when, where and how you will gamble You are in so much pain that you must continue to gamble even though you know you will lose. We offer gambling addiction treatment. We are one of very few inpatient treatment facilities capable of treating gambling addiction in the United States. We offer you this in a quiet, serene setting away from any possibility to gamble. We create a supportive environment in which to learn about what issues you have experienced in the past, the inner pains and sadness that have caused you to choose to gamble. We offer you this support with many one-on-one sessions with Sally and our other well trained and caring staff. We also work with you in our intimate group sessions. We are a small 5 bed facility so even in our group therapy sessions you get personalized attention that you need to learn about and control your addiction. Each person comes with their own past experiences and learns how to analyze and understand these experiences so that they do not have to choose gambling, drugs or alcohol to live. We help you make a special connection with our financial counselor who specifically helps you to look at your financial situation and how they can help you. By taking a close look at this financial part of your life, the part that you previously affected negatively, we set up a new way of life and a new view of how it can work so that you are in a good place with your financial situation. It is absolutely possible to make this choice and live it for the rest of your life.

Another form of healing that we offer is work with our personal trainer. She is very kind and likes to share her knowledge of exercise. She is at the facility several times a week to teach you about exercise and to guide you through a great program. We have an exercise machine that you may use as well. This exercise program will help to boost your energy and make you feel better and supports your recovery.
Along with the support of good exercise is our nutrition training. We have a nutritionist to teach you about how to eat well, to support your body's health and to gain vitality. You will receive guidance as to what is nutritious. If you want you can even learn how to cook great food with lessons from our chef. Our chef creates healthy, nutritious, healing, nurturing food.
