DETOXIFICATION (Detox) InformationAt Bow Creek Recovery Center we offer a supportive detox program. We have physicians who oversee and guide your detox program. The choice for the supportive method of detox is based upon your symptoms and personal needs. You are evaluated and the manner in which to support your detox is determined. You are carefully watched over by our highly trained staff during this time. Detox from Opiates: Some of the opiates are Codeine, Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, Vicodin, Talwin and Methadone (all of these prescribed by physicians for legitimate pain). The unfortunate truth is that even though these are prescribed by physicians they are addictive. Over time they do not work as well and the patient begins to seek more and more of the drug to overcome the pain. This can lead to going to many doctors as well as seeking illegal drugs on the streets. One other opiate is heroin which is a street drug. Withdrawal from opiate addiction can be painful and difficult. The symptoms of opiate withdrawal are cold sweats, bone pain, anxiety, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea and depression. The fear of withdrawals can prevent you or a loved one from choosing to enter rehab where you can get the help needed to live a better life. Bow Creek Recovery Center's Medical Director is certified in Suboxone therapy treatment. He feels that supporting you through the process of detox with Suboxone gives you the opportunity to succeed. He monitors the use of Suboxone to prevent cravings. First you are given the amount of Suboxone that you need to prevent withdrawal symptoms. Once you are stabilized then the slow process of decreasing the Suboxone dosage is initiated. Since Suboxone prevents the feeling of craving it makes it much easier to do the therapeutic work that Bow Creek offers you so that you may start your new life free of opiate use.
We have seen real success with the use of Suboxone. We had a client who was addicted to Methadone. Within the first day they were not experiencing any withdrawal symptoms thanks to the administration of Suboxone. Over a period of time the Suboxone was slowly decreased and the person stayed drug free.
Our goal at Bow Creek Recovery Center is to support you in the best possible way as you detox off of your opiate use. Suboxone is a very positive way that we can support you so that you can lead a healthy and successful life.
Detox from Alcohol:
Our Medical Director also helps those with alcohol addictions to detox from alcohol. There are medications that are used to prevent the symptoms of detox when choosing to stop drinking. In the case of alcohol, if the withdrawals are very severe then the safest option is to have you watched carefully at another facility before you come to Bow Creek Recovery Center.
In the case of non-severe withdrawals then our Medical Director guides the supportive care to help you to detox with very little symptoms. You are monitored carefully and offered a drug therapy course that supports your ability to detox comfortably. In a relatively short period of time the detox is complete and you will leave Bow Creek Recovery Center clear of all symptoms.
